Molos Promenade

The seafront park before the marina

Promenade2 min readUpdated 24 August 2021

Limassol is the most cosmopolitan city in Cyprus, and Molos is one of the things it does best — a promenade along the seafront, before you reach the marina. Walk it and you get the sea, and the boats coming in to the marina and the port keeping the horizon busy all day.

The Frozen Wave

Walk down to the sculpture ‘Frozen Wave’ by Victor Benato and take your photograph with the sea behind you: the piece catches the movement and the sound of the water, and it is the most photographed thing on the promenade.

Why it is called Molos Park

The name comes from the green space and the trees, where people walk and picnic. It suits families particularly well: you can cycle, roller blade, walk or skateboard the length of it, and there are bike paths, skate ramps, walking paths and places to sit.

There are cafés for a coffee or a frappé, outdoor gym equipment free to use, and a pier you can walk out on or fish from.

The pier and seating areas at Molos, Limassol

Molos has been added to steadily over the years — the egg-shaped stones people sit on to talk, sculptures by local and international artists, better facilities each time. It is the easiest place in Limassol to spend an hour outdoors without a plan.
