About the event
Two nights of open-air opera on the square below the Medieval Castle of Pafos. The twenty-fourth festival stages Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore, the 1832 comedy in which Nemorino buys a supposed love potion to win Adina, and which contains Una furtiva lagrima, one of the most famous arias ever written. This is a new production by the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet Alexander Spendiaryan with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, relocating the story to a symbolic post-apocalyptic world.
