About the event

Everything at Flasou starts with milk. Halloumi, anari and trahana are made in front of visitors, along with pourekia, galaktoboureko and rice pudding, and there is a chance to watch traditional milking. A chef runs a workshop where anyone can help make the sweets, a second presents newer dairy recipes, and producers’ stalls sell what they have brought. Around the food, older crafts are shown: pottery, reed flutes, voufa, painted kolotzia gourds and the tailoring of Cypriot waistcoats, with music and folk dancing throughout.
