About the event
A wooden loom, coloured thread and carefully repeated motifs sit at the heart of Fyti’s two-day celebration of weaving. On 3 and 4 October, from 10:00 to 22:00 each day, the third Fytiotiko Textile Festival brings this local craft into village life around Fyti Village Square. Weaving workshops take place in artisans’ homes, the Museum and the Cultural Centre. Halloumi-making workshops add another traditional skill to the programme. Live Greek and Cypriot music, traditional dancing, an art exhibition and children’s activities accompany stalls offering local products and handicrafts. Loukoumades and honey pies are among the treats listed for the weekend. The festival is organised by the Association of Fyti Residents and Friends, To Fytiotiko.
