About the event
Galata's central square and the street leading to it fill with what the village is known for: bread and pastries from a bakery running for over seventy years, halloumi, cheese and trahana, sausages and lountza, jams and spoon sweets, daktyla and pittes, plus homemade goods brought by residents. Delicacies are prepared in the open, there are baking workshops and activities for children, and guided walks reach the Folk Art Museum, the Poyiatzis fountain and the restored Rodous watermill, with the nature trail beyond passing Panagia Podithou, a UNESCO-listed church. Music and dancing close the day.
