Costumes, music and street celebrations at one of Cyprus’s best-known annual traditions.
Limassol Carnival is one of Cyprus’s largest annual celebrations. For a run of days before the Orthodox Lenten season, costumes, music, parties and public events bring a different rhythm to the city.
The grand parade
The best-known event is the grand parade, when groups in elaborate costumes move through Limassol with music and dancing. The programme changes each year, and festivities extend beyond the parade into neighbourhoods, venues and public spaces.
Around the old town
Limassol’s old town becomes a focal point during carnival, with street activity, performances and late-night celebrations around its central squares and surrounding streets.
