About the event

The final weekend of Ayia Napa’s medieval festival brings a Saturday parade, live music and a Sunday finale to the town’s historic centre. The 21st edition runs from 14 to 18 October 2026 around Giorgos Seferis Cultural Centre Square and the Medieval Monastery, with free entry. Its theme, “Ayia Napa: The Crown of the Mediterranean”, brings queens, legends and medieval-inspired street theatre into a contemporary cultural celebration featuring fourteen international artistic groups. For visitors planning the remaining weekend, Saturday 17 October begins with the medieval parade at 19:00. The procession follows Archbishop Makarios III Avenue from the harbour roundabout to the Medieval Monastery, bringing together international performers and Cypriot community groups. At 21:00, Giota Negka presents her concert “Afieromata”, joined by Paris Paraschos and Lefteris Pitsillidis with the Orfeas musical ensemble. On Sunday 18 October, roaming performances begin at 19:00, followed by staged presentations around the square and monastery. The closing ceremony is scheduled for 20:30; the official programme then gives a themed finale from 20:40 to 23:00. Street performances, exhibitions, traditional crafts, creative workshops and a Children’s Corner are announced daily from 19:00 to 22:00. These are individual evening sessions, not continuous opening across the five-day date range. The first festival activities began at 19:00 on 14 October; the published final programme ends at 23:00 on 18 October. Check the municipality’s detailed programme for the location and timing of each performance. Food, purchases or any separately charged services are not established as included by free admission. Use the source link beneath the official programme cover below to open the complete municipal booklet. Our accompanying editorial image depicts fictional costumed performers, not the actual artists, parade or monastery setting.
