Sirena Bay is a small sandy cove framed by low rocks, with clear turquoise water and a beach bar beside the sand. It sits at the northern end of Protaras, between Pernera and Kapparis.

Where it is & getting there

Sirena Bay sits on the northern Protaras coast, in the Paralimni area. Its position between Pernera and Kapparis makes it a lovely stop while exploring this part of the shoreline, whether you are heading out for a morning swim or making a day of the coast.

Access is from Vrysoudion Avenue on the northern Protaras coast. The beach bar and restaurant sit beside the cove, with the sand and low rocks close by. The location card below gives you directions to Sirena Bay.

The beach and the water

A small curve of sand gives Sirena its shape, with low rocks defining the edges. The colours are its strongest attraction: pale sand at the waterline, turquoise over the shallows and deeper blue farther into the bay. There is enough variety in that little stretch of coast to enjoy both a swim and time simply watching the water.

On calm days, take a mask and explore along the rocky edges, where the underwater stones give the shoreline another dimension. Enter the water from the sand; the edges are rocky.

Eating and sunbeds

The beach bar and restaurant stand beside the sand, making lunch or a drink an easy part of a beach visit. You can move from the water to a table and keep the same view of the cove, with the low shoreline and open sea in front of you.

Sunbeds give the beach its organised side. Settle in for the morning, take a swim and leave time for something to eat afterwards. Sirena works particularly well when you want the pleasures of a small beach and a waterfront restaurant together in one place.

When to go

Morning light brings out the turquoise water and the detail of the rocky shoreline. It is a lovely time for a swim followed by coffee, with the rest of the day still ahead. In the afternoon, warmer light falls across the sand and rocks, giving the bay a different mood.

Weekdays suit quieter swims and a relaxed few hours by the water. Sundays often bring parties at the beach bar and a livelier, youthful atmosphere, with music and groups spending the day by the sea.

Nearby

Continue your outing with Ayios Nikolaos church and the Pernera waterfront. For another beach day, Fig Tree Bay brings you into central Protaras, while Vizakia offers small coves towards the Cavo Maris side of the coast.

Farther south, Konnos Bay and Cape Greco make a rewarding coastal outing of their own. Together, these places offer different ways to enjoy Protaras: a sandy swim, a whitewashed chapel, rocky coves and the open views of the headland.
